CAVE MURDERS: Child of father that allegedly killed mother and brother returns to Germany

THE child whose father allegedly killed his mother and brother while on holiday in Tenerife has been returned to his grandparents.

The German child, who is said to have survived an attempt on his own life, is reportedly doing well physically and emotionally and with his mother’s parents.

According to Spanish judicial sources, the court in Arona authorised the child’s return to Germany accompanied by a priest and a representative of the German consulate in the Canary Islands.

The court said: [The child is] perfect physically and psychologically, given the circumstances.”  After the boy was found wandering around the Adeje area of Tenerife on April 23, he reportedly told police his father had attacked his mother and brother after taking them on a trip to a cave.

He claimed he managed to escape, before showing them to the area.  Police say they found the bodies of the mother and 10-year-old son, both reportedly showing signs of a violent death.

The father has since been remanded in custody charged with two counts of murder.
