Airport death: Palma security worker ‘dies after tourist attack’

A WORKER for the security company at Palma de Mallorca Airport has died after allegedly being attacked last week by a German tourist.

According to Spanish media, the incident took place on Sunday 28 April when the female worker was attacked by the tourist who had just landed at the airport.

The woman reportedly suffered major hip fractures in the assault which required surgery.  She reportedly died shortly after the operation.

The worker is said to have arrested the German for assault, before the tourist was taken to court and later released.

The Guardia Civil have told Spanish media a court will now determine whether her death is related to her injuries.
