EIGHT people have been arrested by the Guardia Civil today (Friday) after a shooting between alleged drug traffickers in El Campello, Alicante.
The incident took place between 5.30am and 6.00am on the N-332 motorway.
The armed institute was called to the scene after several residents heard the sound of multiple gun shots.
It has been suggested that the shooting occurred between two gangs, one of which allegedly had the intention of stealing drugs from the other.
The arrested individuals were of Moroccan, Algerian, French, Dutch, and other nationalities.
Three vehicles with bullet impacts were retrieved.
The armed institute will continue investigations surrounding the case.
