AN EASYJET aircraft flying from Liverpool John Lennon Airport to Spain’s Canary Islands was forced to divert to Manchester after the crew decided to abort the flight due to a ‘technical issue’.
The EZY7157 flight crew declared an emergency shortly after take-off to Lanzarote and the aircraft went into a holding pattern above Chester before landing safely at nearby Manchester yesterday afternoon.
A spokesperson said: “easyJet can confirm that the captain of flight EZY7157 from Liverpool to Lanzarote took the decision to divert to Manchester due to a technical issue.
