A MALAGA CITY court has handed a defendant found guilty of sending child pornography on an online chat group a 12-month suspended prison sentence.

Prosecutors told the court during the trial that the defendant had sent nine indecent images of children on a mobile messaging application.

When police raided the defendant’s house they found 82 indecent images and 16 videos on his computer.

The man was also found to have made comments about the files when uploading and downloading them, the court heard.

The court ruled the man suffered from slight mental disabilities which impaired his judgement and could be classed as mitigation for the offence.

The court has also ordered that the defendant undertake two years of probation and is now legally required to inform authorities of house moves. He has also been barred from working with children for two years.
