A 53-year-old British woman was airlifted to hospital yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon after having been struck by the doors of a lorry in Santiago del Teide.
According to the Emergency and Security Coordination Centre 112 of the Canary Islands’ Government, the woman suffered severe injuries after being hit by the back doors of the vehicle at around 13.52pm on Petunia Street.
After being treated at the scene by the Canary Emergency Services, she was moved to the University Hospital of Nuestra Señora de la Canderlaria by a helicopter that landed on a football pitch.
