Earth rumbles in south of Spain this morning

THE earth had a little shudder first thing this morning in Spain’s Andalucia.

The National Geographic Institute registered a tremor measuring 3.7 on the Richter Scale, the epicentre 50 kilometres off the Roquetas de Mar coast in Almeria province, at 9.05am today (Thursday).

At five kilometres down, it was a low-intensity quake. There were no reports of anyone hurt or any material damage.

There have been a number of small tremors in the same area this week, the strongest a 2.2.
