BOOTED OFF: ‘Drunk and disorderly’ English football team kicked off flight in Spain

POLICE have booted an entire amateur football team off a UK flight in Spain after the plane’s captain requested assistance on landing on Spain’s Costa Blanca.

Guardia Civil officers boarded the flight from Bristol to Alicante-Elche airport after other annoyed passengers described them as ‘under the influence of alcohol’ and accused them of an ‘aggressive and defiant’ attitude.

Twenty-five members of the group were reportedly escorted from the plane by police to the cheers of other passengers.

The majority of them, according to the police, presented “evident signs of being under the influence of alcoholic beverages”.

The incident happened last Saturday but details have only just been released.

It is understood none of the travelling squad was formally charged but could still face large public disorder fines
