Gandia council is looking for a suitable beach for dogs

THE LEGAL and urban services of the Gandia council are facing the problem of where to locate a dog-friendly beach.
Previously the beach at l’Auir was designated as pet-friendly but this area is now under the protection of a green infrastructure programme which would not allow the beach to be legally used by canines.
It would not be feasible for the dog-friendly beach to be in the urban area as this would mean Gandia beach losing its Blue flag status.
Víctor Soler said that the Popular Party of Gandia was the driving force of the CAN Beach project for Gandia.
He said: “Our beach became one of the first tourist destinations nationwide in pet tourism, which is an added value for Gandia. Since 2012, Gandía is a tourist reference thanks to the proposal of the Government of the Popular Party. Many national and international tourists have come and chosen our beach for family vacations with pets. ”
The hunt for a new dog friendly beach continues.
