BARCELONA FC player Gerard Pique has spoken out against fans who shouted anti-Spain insults as Cataluña played Venezuela.
As Pique played for the Catalan National Team, he gestured for fans to stop making pro-independence comments.
He later told Spanish media: “I told them to be silent because we have to lead by example, it is intolerable to be disrespectful, we must not disrespect.”
Commenting on his decision to leave the Spanish national team to play for Cataluña, Pique told media: “People who do not want to understand, will never understand it.”
