A SUPERMARKET and school on the Costa del Sol have raised €3,275 for a young local woman who lost her limbs to septicaemia in July.

Overseas Mijas and Laude San Pedro International presented the money to Sarah Almagro Vallejo’s mother today (Friday) in a ceremony at the store.

Denise Butler, of Overseas Mijas, said several events including carol singing, a sponsored walk, a cake sale and a raffle had been put on to raise money for Sarah’s prosthesis.

“We want to say a huge thank you to all customers of Overseas Mijas who donated money over the last few months,” Denise said.

Laude San Pedro held the cake sale in aid of Sarah and also sang carols to Overseas Mijas customers.

Denis and her colleague David took part in a 10 kilometre sponsored walk for the cause.

“We want to give a special thanks to Eddie and Linda who also took part in our walk,” Denise said.

Fundraising efforts have taken place across the Costa del Sol for Sarah since she had her hands and feet amputated last year. The fundraising drive has been dubbed Palante con Sarah.
