BLACK FLAME: Much more than a carvery!

WINNING TEAM: From left Lorna, Chelo, Heidi and Sam

IF YOU’RE LOOKING for a restaurant that is much more than a carvery, then the Black Flame in Pedreguer will satisfy your every taste desire.

Known for the past 15 years as Monroes Carvery, the name change in December not only reflected their more diverse menu, it even opened the eyes of the many locals who visit every week and throughout.

Of course you can get the best Sunday roast in the area, and not only on a Sunday either, complete with Yorkshire puddings we might add, but as the name Black Flame might suggest, they also offer a wide range of products from their flame-burner kitchen.

Be it chicken, lamb or beef, for example, you can choose your flame-grilled delicacy, served up with an abundance of vegetables on the side, and succulent sauces ranging from gravy to mint, just to add that finishing touch. There are also gluten-free options always available and, despite being a meat-orientated grill, vegetarians are also catered for.

The menu doesn’t stop there, however,  as proven by their Fishy Friday specials, and talking of Friday, they have live entertainment every Friday evening, with the locally-famous Larry performing an eclectic range of songs, all with the hint of an Irish twang.

Their theme nights are always a fun-packed draw, whether it be country and western, an 80’s disco, karaoke, Halloween, their bargain New Year buffet celebration, or just about any excuse to “dress up silly”, according to Heidi and Sam, with 15-years experience, who run the Black Flame, as well as their little sister bar in Benidorm, the Nag’s Head.

Of course with theme nights in mind, they couldn’t resist celebrating St Patrick’s day, although they spread the celebrations out right through the weekend, with Larry on hand every day to have everyone singing, and even a bit of dancing, with their themed hats, prizes and special offers on, well, what else would we expect, Guinness.

As for the Black Flame itself, you will find a spacious dining area with tables set for either a large group or an intimate meal for two, with plenty of tables both inside or outside in their lusciously green garden area, complete with chill-out zone.

The restaurant is geared up to deal with any size group, so whether you want to take that special someone for a night out to remember, or drop by with a coach load, as many do in the afternoons, even coming from as far away as Torrevieja, then your food will be served with the utter professionalism and dedication that the team led by Heidi and Sam deliver.

And yet, despite this latest makeover, which was only done in December by the way, the improvements are still carrying on, at least in the minds of Heidi and Sam, as they think of new ways of offering both a better service and a better overall experience for both their hundreds of regulars who visit so frequently, and the new clients they meet every day, because they are all equally important, and driven by the desire to provide the best quality of service available anywhere.

You can visit the Black Flame on Avda Garrofer, 0, Pedreguer, or check out their Facebook page, where you can also get directions straight to the door, thanks to a link with online mapping.

For reservations, or just to find out more, you can give them a call on 965 76 17 31, and remember to mention to Heidi and Sam where you heard about them.
