EMERGENCY SERVICES have recovered the body of an 87-year-old man from his submerged vehicle after it is reported he reversed eight-metres from his garage into a river.
The tragic accident, involving just the one vehicle, happened at kilometre 0.2 of the CA-257 in Cantabria.
Guardia Civil officers jumped into the water, smashed the submerged vehicle’s glass and pulled the man’s limp body from the car and firefighters took it to the river bank.
However, health personnel could only confirm the death of the driver at the scene.
