ONE in two online shopping trips in Spain is made by mobile phone, according to new figures.
A study by consultants Ipsos, showed the trend could continue to grow, with more shopping expected to be carried out by mobile phone or tablet.
The figures bring Spain into thirteenth place worldwide for the number of purchases made this way, and fourth in Europe. The report showed while many customers are happy to browse for items on their mobile device, the final purchase is made on a computer in 71 per cent of cases, however.
According to Ipsos, the most purchased items in order are clothing, travel, and books, with consumers citing lower prices, convenience and shipping costs as their main reasons for buying online.
