Traffic accident victim compensation in Spain witnesses 40% drop in three years

LAWYERS from across Spain are demanding changes to the amount of compensation paid out following traffic accidents.

Professionals from more than 130 law firms said money paid out to victims had decreased by 40 per cent in the three years since changes to laws around civil liability.

Lawyers claimed current laws limit rights for victims despite the number of accident victims increasing by a reported 23 per cent.
