Brit teacher working in Spain who sent obscene messages to girl in UK escapes jail sentence

A BRITISH school teacher who was working in Spain sent indecent photos, videos and messages to a teenage girl in the UK via a social media app, a court has heard.

Lee Gallagher from Merseyside told the girl in Facebook messages he wanted to watch her take of her pyjamas and put on her school uniform and that she would ‘look amazing’ naked.

Gallagher sent a sick selfie of himself to the girl who he thought was called Jessie. He also sent her a video of him performing a sex act.

But teacher Gallagher, who had created a fake Facebook account, was actually communicating with online vigilante group Dark Justice.

Dark Justice tipped off the National Crime Agency and Gallagher was arrested when he flew into Manchester Airport last year.

Gallagher pleaded guilty at Liverpool Crown Court to attempting to cause a female under 13 to engage in sexual activity, attempting to engage in sexual activity with a child, encouraging a child to watch images of a sexual nature and possessing an indecent image of a child.

Gallagher, was handed a suspended sentence, ordered to complete 200 hours of community service and sign the sex offenders register.

A Dark Justice spokesman told local media in Liverpool: “We are shocked Gallagher did not go to jail. We hope the authorities make sure he is barred from teaching in the future both in the UK and Spain.”
