AFTER several days of sizzling sunny weather, the rain and bad weather is set to return to Spain, according to AEMET.
The arrival of a “very active” cold front is set to hit the Spanish peninsula in the upcoming hours through to Thursday.
Met office predictions show that the Atlantic front will hit the majority of the country but the most affected areas will be Galicia, which will be mainly targeted by the rain, and the mountainous areas of Galicia, western areas of the Pyrenees and the ‘Sistema Central’ which will see extreme winds.
On Wednesday, the rest of the peninsula will also be struck by bad weather with yellow alerts in place for some areas.
Some of the locations under yellow alert for Wednesday include the coastal areas of Malaga, Granada and Almeria and most of Andalucia’s mainland, the Costa Calida and part of the Costa Blanca (Alicante).
The bad weather is set to calm after Thursday.
