REMEBERED: The memorial for Pablo Raez is in Fuengirola’s Parque de España CREDIT: Fuengirola Council
FUENGIROLA’S mayor unveiled a new memorial to a young man who campaigned to boost bone marrow donations before dying of leukaemia.
Ana Mula joined Fransico Raez, father of Pablo, for the unveiling in the town’s Parque de España on Monday.
The mayor said Pablo, who died in February 2017, had lived with leukaemia while keeping a smile on his face which had inspired thousands to donate bone marrow.
Francisco Raez said his son’s death two years ago seemed like yesterday.
“When everyone thinks of Pablo they think of someone full of tenderness and love. That is a legacy that will last,” Raez said.
