Crevillente IX Lent Gastronomy Fair

THE Crevillente Federation of Holy Week Brotherhoods and Cofradías will be celebrating the ninth edition of its Lent Gastronomy Fair, organized in collaboration with the town hall’s departments of Economic Development and Tourism.
As is tradition, the “Estrella de África”, “Las Palmeras” and “Casa Tomás” restaurants will participate in the event, celebrated every Friday between March 8 and April 12, and whose objective is to remind people of the typical lunches eaten during Holy Week, as well as promoting local restaurants offering set menus at economical prices.
The three restaurants have prepared the following menus, each priced at €20 per person:
Las Palmeras Restaurant: STARTERS – Assortment of Crevillente “Cocas”, Champagne Salad with Raisins and “Ñoras” and deep-fried fish and prawns. MAIN: Rice with onion and cod or golden loin with carrot jam. DESSERT: “Torrija of Horchata with Mantecado”. DRINKS: Assorted beverages, coffee and Muscat.
La Estrella de Africa: Good Friday lunch tasting, consisting of “pà torrat”, “Coca Crevillentina”, garlic, cod and beans, cod croquettes and Chaplain’s salad. MAIN: Rice with vegetables. DESSERT: “Panet amb figa” and dessert of Lent. DRINKS: Coffee, Infusions, Grape Wine, Water, Beer and Special “Chupito”.
Casa Tomás: STARTERS: Toasted bread with “Pipes i Carasses”, cod croquettes and octopus fry. MAIN: Chickpea stew with cod or sea bass. DESSERT: “Torrijas”. DRINKS: Assorted beverages and coffee.
Holy Week is an important event in Crevillente since it was declared of International Tourist Interest in 2011.
