MORE than 20 homes under construction in Sant Joan, are believed to have been destroyed by three suspects arrested after allegedly being ‘caught in the act’. Police received a tip off from a member of the public that a theft was taking place at a new build just before midnight on Monday. Officers managed to ‘surprise’ the trio still inside the property, and made the arrests. According to a police source, the value of the items stolen is just over €2,000, but the cost of the damage caused has still to be assessed, and will be considerably higher. The detainees are accused of taking electrical wiring and faucets from kitchens and bathrooms ‘destroying 22 homes’.
