SPRING CLEAN: Group seeks volunteers to clean up Axarquia’s coastline

AN AXAQRUIA association committed to cleaning up the area’s beaches has called for volunteers to join them over the spring and summer.

The Beach Patrol Association announced it will be organising clean-ups on La Herradura beach, Velilla beach and San Cristobal beach in Almuñecar on Saturday March 23, Sunday June 30, and Sunday September 22.

The group said it is currently seeking 45 team captains to oversee the work, enabling them to put 15 teams in each location.  The Beach Patrol Association said: “Even if your schedule only allows you to join us once, we’d love to have you! All you need to do is find 10 to 15 friends to join you!”

The events, which will take place from 10am to 12pm on each of the dates, are open to everyone, including children, and there is no fee to register.
