WATCH: Man arrested after dismembered body of missing young woman found in freezer in Spain

THE body of a dismembered woman, last seen by her family 18 months ago, was found in a freezer at a property in Alcala de Henares, close to Madrid, yesterday (Thursday).

A 42-year-old man, who has reportedly lived in the rented house for the last two years, has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

The Russian victim, 22, had been missing since September 2017, but her disappearance was only reported on December 30 by her ‘estranged’ family after numerous failed attempts to contact her.

Investigating officers visited the property, where the detainee told them the young woman ‘no longer resided with him’. A search warrant was requested and on Thursday evening, police made the grisly discovery in a freezer in the bathroom.

A post mortem will be carried out to determine when the young woman died, but according to sources, it is possible the suspect lived with the body in the house for some time.
