VIDEO: Two dead after plane crashes onto rural road in Spain

TWO people have died after their light aircraft crashed onto a rural track near the Spanish capital of Madrid today (Wednesday).

Emergency services rushed to the scene of the accident in Quijorna but paramedics could only confirm the deaths of the occupants of the small plane.

It is understood the victims were a 26-year-old student of Afghan nationality and his instructor, a 30-year-old Spanish woman from the Quality Fly school.

Investigations into the cause of the accident have been opened by the police after reports the plane may have collided mid-air with an ultralight aircraft.

It is the second plane crash in Madrid within 48 hours. Yesterday two people were seriously injured while making an emergency landing.
