TROUBLE IN THE AIR: Jet2 flight from Tenerife diverted to remove ‘drunk’ passengers

JET2 was forced to divert a plane travelling from Tenerife to Belfast due to ‘drunk’ passengers’ abusive language towards cabin crew on Saturday.

The plane landed in Santiago, Spain, after the two male passengers started to ‘swear’ at the flight crew.

According to British press, the pair were removed from the aircraft once it landed, around one hour and 30 minutes after departing.

The LS382 flight was diverted to Santiago de Compostela Airport, leaving passengers grounded for approximately two hours.

It landed in Belfast at 9.21pm, nearly three hours after its expected arrival time.

According to a statement given by Jet2, once the flight landed in Santiago, ‘police boarded the aircraft and removed the two disruptive passengers’.

The airline claims to ‘take a zero-tolerance approach towards disruptive behaviour’, and ‘will help the relevant authorities in any investigation that may be carried out’.

Jet2 has also apologised to the passengers affected by flight delay.
