THE number of people out of work in Marbella stood at 11,692 at the end of last month, 236 more than in November in the fifth consecutive month-on-month increase.
Figures from Andalucia’s job seeker agency showed December 2018’s figure was down from the 12,443 unemployed in the city at the same time in 2017.
More than 5,143 people took contracted work last month, down from 6,244 in November. The majority, 4,604, were for temporary contracts while 541 workers signed indefinite contracts.
