A VIDEO of a black woman allegedly being racially abused on a bus in Vitoria Wednesday afternoon, has gone viral.

Footage shows the woman being asked to ‘close’ her daughter’s scooter by the driver, in ‘accordance with regulations’, as it was apparently causing an obstruction.

He tells the mother that ‘every day is the same’ and ‘tomorrow you do not ride on the bus’, to which she replies that her daughter has ‘special needs’. During the exchange of words, the woman dismisses the driver as ‘racist’.

Another passenger can be heard in the background shouting at the woman, ‘I am a military man and I have been killing people like you for 20 years’.

Itziar Gonzalo, president of the municipal bus company Tuvisa, issued a statement assuring that information is being gathered ‘to try to know exactly what happened’, which will be passed to the Board of Directors.

  1. It appear that the only evidence of ‘racism’ in this episode is the woman playing the race card because she is being told to do something she doesn’t want to in order to comply with the rules of the bus she is on, and another passenger saying ‘‘I am a military man and I have been killing people like you for 20 years’, which could be interpreted as anything you want. Why is this news? Every time there is even a sniff of racism the press and social media are all over it, whereas if it had been two white people and one had punched the other, no one would care. Perceived racism is now seen as a bigger crime than violence. Please can we all get a grip.
