DANIEL Paxton, a 27-year-old Scottish man, plans to drive over 3,000 km from Kilmarnock to Benidorm.
Daniel’s charity drive aims to raise funds for the National Autistic Society.
He will be driving a £150 motor to get from Kilmarnock to Calais and then on to Benidorm on the Costa Blanca.
The drive is expected to take around three days from start to finish.
Daniel told British press that his four-year-old son, Callan, has autism and he knows ‘how hard it is and there isn’t enough awareness and support for people to help recognise the signs of autism.’
So far, Daniel has raised £600 for the National Autistic Society through word of mouth but wants to raise as much as he can.
Daniel and his Ford Focus car are set to depart on May 14, when he will catch a ferry to Calais in France.
After arriving in Calais, he will continue his charity journey to Benidorm.
He hopes that his Ford Focus will make it the entire journey after many businesses have donated car parts to the cause.
The National Autistic Society was founded in 1962 and is the UK’s leading charity for autistic people and their families. Their goal is to help transform lives, change attitudes and create a society that works for autistic people.
