HEATHROW Airport has cancelled all departures after a drone sighting this evening (Tuesday).
Passengers are reportedly stuck on the runway as police investigate the possible drone activity.
The London airport has stated in a Twitter post that staff are working together with the police to ‘prevent any threat to operational safety’.
We are responding to a drone sighting at Heathrow and are working closely with the Met Police to prevent any threat to operational safety. As a precautionary measure, we have stopped departures while we investigate. We apologise to passengers for any inconvenience this may cause.
