THE president of Cataluña’s Generalitat is the highest paid of Spain’s regional leaders, according to government data.
Quim Torra is paid €146,925 a year for his role as Catalan President. Angel Garrido, the head of the Madrid Region, is the second highest paid at €100,090 a year while Basque Country lendakari Iñigo Urkullu came third with €94,494.
Valencia’s president Ximo Puig was the sixth highest paid at €78,536. Murcia’s president Fernando Lopez Miras takes home €68,257 a year while Balearic Islands leader Francina Armengol earns €66,240 a year.
Junta de Andalucia president Susana Diaz was the second lowest paid at €66,230 a year. Javier Fernandez, the head of Asturias, was the lowest paid earning €64,985 a year.
