WATCH: Spanish police discover migrants hidden inside mattresses in desperate attempt to enter Europe

TWO migrants were found hidden inside mattresses strapped to the roof of a truck in an attempt to make their way into Spain at the Morocco-Melilla border.

A video recorded on a mobile phone, which has gone viral, shows the Guardia Civil lowering the two mattresses and cutting them open, revealing a young man in each.

The driver of the vehicle fled the scene when officers asked to inspect the cargo.

The two migrants, of sub-Saharan origin reportedly told the authorities they had paid the equivalent of €4,500 each to try to enter the country.
