WATCH: Roads closed due to snow in Spain’s Canary Islands

SNOW has fallen overnight and this morning (Friday) in Spain’s Canary Island of Tenerife.

The holiday hotspot that is a popular destination for Brits seeking winter sunshine saw the access roads to the Teide Natural Park closed as driving snow made the mountain roads impassable.
The cable car that runs to the top of the mountain was also closed briefly but has now reopened.
Around 5cm of snow fell with temperatures of -2 celsius recorded and a snow level of 1,800 metres.
Snow fall has also been recorded in Gran Canaria.
