A FRIGHTENING video of the section of track filmed prior to this morning’s fatal derailment has emerged on social media showing water and mud cascading down the embankments on each side of the line.

Broadcaster TV3 said the footage was shot on Sunday on the same section of the R4 line. The area has suffered from heavy rain prior to the landslide. This morning’s derailment has left one person dead and several people ‘seriously injured on the commuter train that was carrying around 150 passengers.
