Police close roads amidst reports of pedestrian hit on Costa del Sol

EMERGENCY SERVICES were quickly on the scene this afternoon (Friday) after reports of a pedestrian falling into the road and being struck by a vehicle on a main thoroughfare on Spain’s Costa del Sol.
Local Police officers and an ambulance were despatched to Fuengirola at midday after the incident which left one person injured.
Witnesses told the Euro Weekly News they saw an elderly man fall into Avenida Ramon y Cajal in the Los Boliches area before then being hit by a passing vehicle.
Local Police officers did not confirm the witness reports.
Police closed the Avenida Ramon y Cajal road in the Los Boliches area of the town and traffic was diverted to Paseo Maritimo Rey de España.
Investigations are ongoing but the road is now open.
