RAIN IN SPAIN: Better get the brollies and wellies ready! Photo credit: Shutterstock
SPAIN’S state Met Office has issued yellow severe weather warnings across the majority of the south of Spain and the Balearic Islands tomorrow (Tuesday). Heavy rain and thunderstorms are being forecast after an unseasonably hot weekend that saw some areas reach temperatures of 35C. But with the arrival of a new cold front, associated with an Atlantic storm, many areas will now see rain and a general reduction in temperatures across the peninsula. Tomorrow in Andalucia the provinces on alert for heavy rain are Almeria, Cordoba, Granada, Jaen and Malaga. The last two also are on yellow alerts for thunderstorms. The autonomous region of Murcia also has a yellow weather warning in place for heavy rain. The Balearic islands of Ibiza, Formentera, Mallorca and Menorca have similar warnings that will remain in place through until Wednesday.
