SUSANA DIAZ, the socialist president of the Junta de Andalucia has announced December 2 as the date for elections in the autonomous community, four months ahead of schedule. The shock announcement this afternoon (Monday) comes after an extraordinary meeting of the governing council at the Palacio de San Telmo. Diaz is expected to address the media to reveal her reasons behind the decision after the special meeting. The announcement comes just weeks after the pact her PSOE-A party had with Ciudadanos broke down. Andalucia is the most populated community in Spain with 8.4 million inhabitants. More to follow…
