RAIDS: Plants and drugs ready to sell on have been seized in Mallorca CREDIT: Guardia Civil
ONE hundred kilos of two-metre high marihuana plants and a further 100 kilos of dried ‘buds’ have been seized in Mallorca. Guardia Civil officers arrested ten people in connection with the cultivation and manufacture of drugs, as part of an operation involving a number of locations on the island. At the end of September, when marijuana planted outdoors is typically harvested, officers intensified surveillance work in ‘hotspot’ areas. Home and farm searches were carried out in Montuiri, Arta, Cala d’Or and Felanitx, over several days, and a total 200 kilos of marijuana was recovered, half of which was already bagged ready to sell on.
