POLICE in Alicante have arrested a Dutchman in connection with a murder committed in 2004. The 54 year-old is also accused of belonging to a criminal organisation ‘dedicated to committing assassinations for settling accounts’. A European arrest warrant was issued by Dutch authorities hunting for the suspected fugitive, who allegedly shot his victim several times in Amsterdam on May 17. International police co-operation led the Guardia Civil to a property in La Nucia, where he was detained on Monday. The accused faces extradition and a possible life sentence if found guilty in his own country.
