AUTUMN downpours on the Costa Blanca have failed to dampen the spirits of British holidaymakers in the normally sunny holiday hotspot.
One group of resilient holidaymakers were captured on video refusing to allow the ‘monsoon’ conditions ruin their day.
British holidaymaker, Paul Emery, flew into Benidorm with a group of friends only to find heavy rainfall on Avenue del Mediterraneo and Avenue de Almeria.
The group decided to seek shelter in a nearby pub, Livingstone’s Freehouse Kessingland.
However, shortly after entering, Mr. Emery noticed the rising flood waters outside had begun to pour into the pub.
The group refused to allow the rising waters dampen their holiday spirit and can be seen in the video footage casually enjoying their drinks.
Despite the yellow level weather warnings that had been issued across the Costa Blanca, the group can be seen in typical summer attire, flip flops, shorts and t-shirts.
Mr. Emery said, “It was like a monsoon. It was ever so funny. Obviously the water started rising in the bar, everyone’s feet got wet.”
