POLICE in Spain are working to try and identify a woman whose dismembered body was found in a suitcase inside a burning building. The grisly find was made after firefighters had extinguished the blaze in Usera, Madrid in August but forensic tests on the remains have failed to reveal the identity of the victim. The suitcase was found covered and with a large pool of blood around it. When the case was opened it revealed the trunk of a woman, cut into several pieces. It was covered with a white powder, believed to be a fire accelerant. An autopsy and other forensic tests did not establish the identity of the woman or who was responsible for her death. Now the Homicide Group of the National Police is taking charge of the investigation to find out who the dismembered victim was.
