Fourteen football fans injured after fence collapse at La Liga game in Spain

TEN supporters of Sevilla Football Club were rushed to hospital last night (Saturday) after a fence collapsed during their team’s game at Eibar.
A further four were treated at the scene after the fence gave way when the Sevilla players celebrated Banega’s penalty.
The match between SD Eibar and Sevilla FC at the Ipurua Stadium was interrupted in the 65th minute and stopped for eight minutes as the injured were tended.
The injured taken to hospital included broken bones – but none were described as serious.
It is claimed that 20 or 30 people had jumped on the fence to celebrate the goal and that caused it to collapse spilling fans onto the pitch.
Sevilla went on to win the match 1-3 who currently stand second in La Liga one point behind FC Barcelona.
