THE LATEST incident in a tragic week for Spain sees police searching for the killer of a woman who was stabbed to death this morning (Thursday) on the Costa del Sol. A manhunt is underway for a man suspected of murdering his 46-year-old partner in Torrox, Malaga. A body was discovered inside of an apartment with stab wounds according to Spanish media. The incident follows a week of domestic violence-related deaths. Two women and two children have been killed in three separate incidents. Their deaths are all being linked to episodes of domestic violence. In Bilbao, a custodial dispute saw a man violently murder his wife after she was denied a restraining order from a Basque gender violence court. In Castellon, a 48-year-old father killed his two daughters, six and two, before jumping out the window of his sixth-floor apartment, killing himself. In Granada, a husband, 49, stabbed his ex-wife to death and is now in police custody. According to figures recorded by the Equality ministry, this week’s incidents have brought the tally for domestic violence-related deaths in Spain to 41 so far in 2018.
