Two more drowning deaths on beaches in Spain

A KITESURFER and a woman bather have died in separate incidents on beaches in Spain today (Monday).
In the first incident, a 27-year-old town councillor died while kitesurfing on the O Bao beach, in A Illa de Arousa, Pontevedra.
At around 11am he was rescued by his own companion after getting into difficulties but despite CPR from paramedics and the attendance of air ambulance they could not do anything to save his life.
The emergency services have also confirmed the death of a woman, approximately 60-years-old, who was pulled from the sea at the El Espejo beach, in Los Alcazares (Murcia).
The incident happened at around 12.30pm this afternoon when the 112 Murcia emergency control centre received calls about a woman who was bathing at the El Espejo beach, who was unconscious and they were practising CPR manoeuvres.
Local Police, Guardia Civil officers and paramedics attended the scene but could only confirm the woman’s death.
