A WOMAN has been arrested on suspicion of being drunk on board an aircraft after the plane was forced to return to its departure airport just 30 minutes into its flight. The Ryanair flight from Manchester to the Spanish party island of Ibiza turned around yesterday afternoon (Monday) and was met by police on arrival back at the airport. Greater Manchester Police said a woman was arrested and taken into custody on suspicion of being drunk on board an aircraft. Ryanair said the flight departed for Ibiza again ‘shortly after’. A spokesperson said: “This flight from Manchester to Ibiza (17 Sept) returned to Manchester Airport shortly after take-off after a passenger became disruptive inflight.” “We will not tolerate unruly or disruptive behaviour at any time and the safety and comfort of our customers, crew and aircraft is our number one priority. “This is now a matter for local police.”
