VIEWER DISCRETION: Two women bystanders injured by escaped bull at festival in Spain

A BULL smashed its way through a wooden barrier and charged two women to the ground during a bull run in Spain, before being tracked down and killed.
The bull broke free during the annual bull-running festivities in the village of Arcas in Cuenca, Spain.
The bull can be seen making a dash for freedom, ploughing into two women bystanders who were unable to avoid the animal.
The two women from the footage are understood to be recovering in the Virgen de la Luz Hospital after being aided by paramedics at the scene of the incident.
Neither woman is considered to be in a life-threatening condition.
The bull in the footage was the first animal featured in the bull-run and the incident occurred at around 9am on Saturday morning.
Shortly after, the barrier was repaired and the bull-running festival continued.
Police officers later tracked the bull down to a nearby field after it fled the site of the festival and a decision was made to shoot and kill the bull.
Mayor of Arcas, Joaquin Gonzalez Mena, has said the incident was a ‘big shock’, going as far as to describe the events of the weekend as a ‘one in a million circumstance.’
The events of Saturday morning have been protested against by animal rights activists whose presence and voice have been growing at smaller bull-running events like the festivities of Arcas in recent times.
