THE mobile phone app Mytaxi has started its operations in Malaga with a fleet of 150 vehicles, after successfully completing its pilot in August.
The company expects to reach 250 drivers in the city by the end of the year, and Pablo Sanchez said:
“Our main objective is to improve the competitiveness of the Malaga taxi sector, as we have already done in Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia and Seville.
“We have digitally transformed taxi services in Spain and adapted them to urban environments.”
Mytaxi is currently offering a half-price deal for users of its app in Malaga.
Some 61 per cent of the tourism it received last year came from abroad, mainly from the UK, Germany, and Italy, which is normally a big market for such apps.
Mytaxi started in 2013 and had 7,600 drivers by the end of 2017.
