AROUND 200 hotel clients were evacuated after a fire broke out in the spa area at a hotel in the south of Spain. The guests were safely evacuated as a ‘precautionary measure’ after ‘a large of amount’ of smoke was produced from the blaze yesterday (Saturday) which is believed to have started in a sauna at the hotel in Costa Ballena, Rota which is in the Andalucian province of Cadiz. The flames were tackled by Civil Protection volunteers until the arrival of five fire engines on the scene. Two clients of the hotel were treated for a “slight inhalation of smoke”, according to the fire brigade which said that no other personal injuries were reported and the guests returned to their rooms once the fire had been controlled.
