PASSION FOR PRINT! Back-to-back Spanish press awards for Euro Weekly News

THE EURO WEEKLY NEWS has done it again.

After scooping the 2018 Professional Trajectory gong, Spain’s leading English language newspaper has now picked up back-to-back wins at the Spanish Periodical Association (AEEPP) Awards in Madrid.

The latest honour comes after the paper was in 2017 voted Best Free Publication at the same event.

It follows a ground-breaking year for the paper and parent company EWN Media Group (EWNMG), with sister brands RTN newspaper and Sol Times joining the company’s portfolio after last year’s win.

According to the organisers, the award is won by a company “for its successes and outstanding professional journey.”

And the EWNMG are justifiably proud after being recognised by an international panel of judges from the upper echelons of European business and media.

Having started life in a tiny Fuengirola flat more than 20 years ago, the group now produces 10 newspapers per week from its modern headquarters on the Costa del Sol, with readership thought to be pushing a million.

In the past year alone the company has acquired two additional brands, given away a car in a prize draw, raised money for two major appeals, sponsored a motor racing team and moved into its state-of-the art new offices.

But what most clients and readers don’t see is the endless commitment of all involved in putting together 10 newspapers every seven days.

From editorial to design, sales to production, accounts to HR, every single member of the EWNMG team has performed above and beyond the call of duty – often under extreme pressure – over the last 12 months.

And while massive thanks is of course reserved for all who read and advertise in the final products, it is those at the sharp end who merit special praise for securing a second consecutive national award after emerging from an especially challenging year.

Congratulations to all, you deserve it.
