SPAIN: National and regional holidays for 2018

SPAIN’S working calendar for 2018 will include a total of 13 national holidays.

Nine of the them are not substitutable by the autonomous communities: January 1 (Monday), March 30 (Good Friday), May 1 (Tuesday), August 15 (Wednesday), October 12 (Friday) ), November 1 (Thursday), December 6 (Thursday), December 8 (Saturday) and December 25 (Tuesday).

However, the Canary Islands, has decided to replace the holiday on December 8 with May 30, the Day of the Canary Islands.

To the nine non-substitutable holidays January 6, Three Kings Day (Saturday) was added because no autonomous region decided to change this holiday to another day.

There are three more that the autonomous communities can substitute: March 19 (San José), March 29 (Easter Thursday) and July 25 (Santiago Apostle).

Then we must add the holidays that each autonomous community has and the local holidays of each city.
