VOLKSWAGEN’S Spanish division, Seat, has delayed announcing the name of its forthcoming sport-utility vehicle (SUV) model.
A spokesman for Seat said, “With the entire Spanish media focused on politics at the moment, we have decided to find a better time.”
Seat, based in Martorell in Cataluña, had planned to announce the name of its new 7-seat sport-utility vehicle model this month, ahead of the launch in 2018.
The car manufacturer received more than 10,000 suggestions from the public and the four names that have reached the final stage are: Alborán, Aranda, Ávila and Tarraco.
Earlier this month Seat halted production at the Martorell plant after parts supplies were disrupted by independence protests for the region.
