Major successes for British films at the Marbella International Film Festival

Best actress Michelle Collins

THE Marbella International Film Festival came to an end last night (Sunday) with the announcement of the winners and the UK contingent did exceptionally well.

Michelle Collins won best actress for her performance in the short film Black Road, Timothy Spall won best actor for his portrayal of 16 characters in the single handed Stanley: A Man of Variety, whilst the best film award went to Rise of the Footsoldier 3 much of which was filmed in Marbella.

Best director was Paul Hills whose feature film about urban satanism, The Power was also nominated for best film.

Other prize winners were Jonah from Austria for best short, whilst Alone among the Taliban from Iran won best documentary.

This the 12th Marbella International Film Festival, supported by media sponsor Euro Weekly News attracted large numbers of industry visitors and a large number of first class entries.
